sorry, you were saying?

And even then,
When the lighting hits you in the same place twice,
leaves a scorch mark of your shadow on the ground
It’s hard to stay, when you’re flaking in the wind
It’s hard to stay, when you’re lonely, scared and thin
so just surrender though you know you can’t be sure,
turn away from what you know and
close the door

You didn’t know that you’d moved closer to the edge,
'till you found that pumping veins were all you had
They burnt your throat, you choked, while they stayed unaware,
killed you with cinnamon but they really seemed to care
I know that holding up this world must make you sore,
so now you rest your arms and
close this door.
